City View Subway Goes Green For St. Patrick’s Day
Some employees at City View got together and decided to have a little fun
for St. Patrick’s Day. We got big Green hats, made green snicker-doodle cookies,
as well as some green macadamia nut. We also made green bread. We spray water on
our bread here before we bake so we added some food coloring. WA-la instant green bread.
It was a grand day of celebration for Irishmen, City View customers, employees and everyone involved in this Holiday.
Of coarse some said no thanks to eating green. One young lady attending Ogle
School said “no it creeps me out.” Others said “sure why not?” As with anything
some like to change up the daily routine and have some fun. One young man said,
“my Mom told me not to eat green bread.” I really enjoy this answer. What a
good thing to tell your son, and my what a good son to listen, that is priceless.
We even had a customer
come in to eat with his hat on. What a treat to greet a fellow hat wearing fun giver. As you can see he is way cool. One of our regular customers paid for the elderly lady in line behind him. She got to the register to pay and behold she had been blessed with lunch. After she ate she came and told me to tell that young man thank you. She had been to the doctor earlier and got a good report and that is why she had stopped at Subway. Praise the Lord for his hand is upon her today.
At City View Subway my goal is to give everyone a good memory. Whether you are a guest, employee, or someone needing a drink of water, I hope your time here will be remembered as being good. A good experience can keep you going, and
coming back.

Let us give Thanks This Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving as I remember it, has been gone a long time. When I was young it was so much fun to help Mom in the kitchen. We would make pie-crust for pumpkin , mincemeat, lemon and chocolate pies. Make a fruit salad Mom called million dollar salad. And it tasted like a million.
[If you want the recipe E-mail me} gailturnbow@westernwoodcrafts.com I will
send it to you. Fresh sweet potatoes for candied yams. Yum, I am getting hungry just writing this. We made cornbread to make dressing, cut onions and celery and Mom would cook the giblets to put in the dressing and also to make the most wonderful gravy, to put on fresh mashed potatoes. Stuffing a big fat turkey and baking it till it was done. Working together in the kitchen to make these things was great quality time and great in learning to cook. All the stores were closed so if you forgot to get something you went without or had to borrow. Everyone pretty much stayed at home together. Some restaurants were open, but not many. We were a small family of four. After my brother and I got married we still continued with the same tradition. Now there was more people, so very cool. My husband and I got to eat twice. We would eat at my Mom and Dads at around noon, then at his Mothers around 7 pm. More people at his Mothers and we would all go for a walk after eating. Those days changed through the years of course as everthing does. My children helped me in the kitchen as they grew up. What treasured memories I have and I am thankful for all of them.
A lot of people still cook , but alot order pre made dinners. Stores are open and people have to work instead of being home with their families. After eating, lets go shopping. I have visions of people setting at the tables with cell phones texting each other, please pass the tato’s. Or something like that. No eye contact and no voices. I hope my visions are wrong and it is a great time for all.
Let us gather together and be thankful for all in our lives. Let us praise
God for all we have and Pray for more Blessings each and everyday. May we all prosper and grow. Bless this house oh Lord we pray, keep it safe by night and day. Thank you Lord for bringing us together on this Thanksgiving Day.
Thank you, GOD BLESS You
Amen

Website Design VS: Google
To many web designers and webmasters today are more concerned about SEO today than they are about how their site looks. Pleasing Google and other search engines should not be your main focus. Great content and pleasing looks should be your first concern, make your site an informative and fun place to visit. Don’t be like all the other boring black and blue corporate looking sites otthere, be yourself and design the website you want to design. Being unique and different in my opinion beats any template or cookie cutter site out there. I get tired of doing a search and finding all these "top sites" as the search engines call them and finding nothing but the same old stuff. Alot of these top sites offer very little informative or enjoyable content, but they are optimized for Google. Most sites are so full of advertising, popups, or links to other boring sites it makes it almost unbearable to surf any more.
Keep your advertising to a minimum and don’t use those anoying popup ads at all, when I visit a site with popups I go somewhere else and do not return. If you are building a site to sell your products dont use advertising at all, concentrate on selling your own products not somebody elses. The little bit of money you make on these advertisements is not worth the distraction to your visiters, they may click on the ad and buy somewhere elses product instead of yours.
A search engines roll should be to index sites based on the quality of there content and not on what some SEO company did to get you to the top of the so called list. You can be number one on the list every day but if you have nothing to offer other than the same old stuff visitors will not return. Don’t follow lead the way with a well designed fun, unique, and content rich site and don’t worry about those search engines they will find you. If everybody would do this the internet would be a much more interesting place.
