Born And Raised In Utah

Posted on Monday, August 16, 2010 in Articles

Hello, I was born and raised in Utah. I had one brother and he was five years older than I.  We had  great parents that spent a lot of time with us Fishing, camping and just spending time together. My parents always taught me honesty is the best policy and with a name like Trusty it seems to go together. My Mother, Father and brother have all passed on. I married at a young age and have three wonderful children. They are all married and have Blessed me with six
grandchildren. I am so thankful for being blessed with such beautiful children
and grandchildren.  I am very proud of all of them.

My oldest Daughter lives in New York State and I have not seen her and her
family for a few years now. I have not met my Granddaughter Lucy. I have talked to her on the phone and seen pictures and She is truly amazing, as is her brother Taylor. One day soon I should hope God will grant me the means to be with them. I would love to be able to spend some time with them, To get to know them and unite with my Daughter and her husband.

This last Month of July, Mark and I were Blessed with a trip to Utah. My Son,
Daughter and their families arranged the trip for us so we could come and stay with them for two weeks. Praise the Lord, for the Blessings he gave to all of us that we may have this time together. I had not seen my Daughter Jenny in about 20 yrs, Nor met any of her 3 children or Husband. My Son Jason visited us here in Texas about 5 yrs ago with his Daughter, my Granddaughter Ciera, so it has not been as long away from them. Although he does have a wife Tanya that I had never met.

He tried to arrange for us to come to the Wedding, but when they got married
a couple of years ago there was no way we could go there. It was not meant to be at that time. For so many reasons. Even though we where unable to attend this Great Union between Jason and Tanya they were and are married. They go together so very well and may God continue to Bless them.

City View Subway

Posted on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Articles

SubwayCity View Subway is a Great place to eat. I say this because I work there and we have some of the greatest sandwich artists anywhere. Along with that our customers are some of the best people you will ever meet in your life. After you see people from day to day, you get to know what they are going to order and how they want it made. This gives us time to say hello how are you , what is knew. We have a subway family at our store and if you are ever near our store stop in and let us entertain you.

City view Subway
4750 Bryant Irvin Road # 840
Fort Worth, Texas

Really you need to come in when I am working , because I am the wild and crazy one. I like to yell out welcome to Subway and greet you as you enter our store. The other family members are not as energetic as I am. I also like to sing 5 dollar, 5 dollar, 5 dollar footlong when you order a 5 dollar footlong. Our store is clean and our food is fresh.  I also have a special ingredient I put in my subs. It is called LOVE. It always makes everything better when you make it with love.

Of course we do have unhappy and grumpy people sometimes, but I try to be extra nice to them. Hopefully when they leave they will think, why was I so horrible? That lady was really nice. She went out of her way to make me happy and I was rude. Shame on me.

Then you have the people that can not put their phone down long enough to give you their order. To me this is really rude. We are trying to fix their meal and they are so important they can not even turn off the phone long enough so you can get thier order. But just keep being nice and good to them , and soon they want to look you in the eye, share a smile, perhaps a laugh or to. We get close to some of these folks and when they do not show up for a few days, we start to wonder if they are ok.

Last week we had a homeless guy come in and want to use our restroom. I told him sure just keep it clean. The second day he came and told me he had a problem. He said he needed a plunger and a mop. I got them for him and he cleaned the restroom tip top. I have not seen him since this cold spell and I sure hope he has a warm place to stay.

In February, Subway is bringing back all footlongs for 5 dollars, not just the 8 we have right now. So plan on making Subway your lunch stop for the day. We also have a great breakfast so stop in and get breakfast and lunch with one stop shopping. I open for breakfast and I have several people that like to stop by just so they can see a happy smiling face before they go to work, and get a great start for the day.

Subway eat Fresh
Thank you, Gail

Let us give Thanks This Thanksgiving

TurkeyThanksgiving as I remember it, has been gone a long time. When I was young it was so much fun to help Mom in the kitchen. We would make pie-crust for pumpkin , mincemeat, lemon and chocolate pies. Make a fruit salad Mom called million dollar salad. And it tasted like a million.
[If you want the recipe E-mail me} gailturnbow@westernwoodcrafts.com I will
send it to you. Fresh sweet potatoes for candied yams. Yum, I am getting  hungry just writing this. We made cornbread to make dressing, cut onions and  celery and Mom would cook the giblets to put in the dressing and also to make the most wonderful gravy, to put on fresh mashed potatoes. Stuffing a big fat turkey and baking it till it was done. Working together in the kitchen to make these things was great quality time and great in learning to cook. All the stores were closed so if you forgot to get something you went without or had to borrow. Everyone pretty much stayed at home together. Some restaurants were open, but not many. We were a small family of four. After my brother and I got married we still continued with the same tradition. Now there was more people, so very cool. My husband and I got to eat twice. We would eat at my Mom and Dads at around noon, then at his Mothers around 7 pm. More people at his Mothers and we would all go for a walk after eating. Those days changed through the years of course as everthing does. My children  helped me in the kitchen as they grew up. What treasured memories I have and I am thankful for all of them.

A lot of people still cook , but alot order pre made dinners.  Stores are open and people have to work instead of being home with their families. After eating, lets go shopping. I have visions of people setting at the tables with cell phones texting each other, please pass the tato’s. Or something like that. No eye contact and no voices. I hope my visions are wrong and it is a great time for all.

Let us gather together and be thankful for all in our lives. Let us praise
God for all we have and Pray for more Blessings each and everyday. May we all prosper and grow. Bless this house oh Lord we pray, keep it safe by night and day. Thank you Lord for bringing us together on this Thanksgiving Day.
Thank you, GOD BLESS You
Amen
